MODESTO – Fire crews from various agencies responded to a report of a house on fire Sunday night.

The fire was dispatched at about 10:45pm at a house at the intersection of Miller and Phoenix, just north of Yosemite Boulevard.

Arriving firefighters found a home with significant fire activity that was visible from the street. The home appeared vacant and boarded up, with security fencing around it. Neighbors in the area noted that the home had previously burned, and saw squatters at the property recently.

The fire was controlled in less than an hour. An investigator responded to the scene to investigate the cause and origin. No further information was available Sunday night.
