Modesto Police to Provide Free Helmets

MODESTO – Children in need of bicycle helmets will have an opportunity to receive a free helmet tomorrow, Friday May 15th.

The Modesto Police Department will be on the Virginia Corridor trail near O’Briens Market from 9am to 12pm or until supplies run out.

Bicycle and pedestrian safety information will also be provided to the community. This information is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The free helmets were made possible by a grant from the California Department of Public Health, Safe and Active Communities Branch, Kids’ Plates Program.
