MODESTO – Police investigated an officer involved shooting Monday night.
The incident happened near the intersection of West Orangeburg and Enslen Avenues at about 9:40pm.
Witnesses who declined to give their names reported they were walking on Orangeburg near the Virginia trail when they heard about four gunshots. As they looked over they heard an officer saying ”man down” and noticed a person on the ground.
Firefighters and medical personnel responded to the scene and rushed one person to the hospital. Their condition was unknown at time of publication.
Police officers and Stanislaus County Sheriff Deputies closed off the area to investigate what led to the shooting.
