TRACY – Two suspects have been arrested for the smash and grab that happened Thursday May 7th.
Authorities said 28 year old Manteca resident Richard Hoffman and 30 year old Jeffrey Potter of Livermore were identified as the suspects for a smash and grab theft of jewelry.
Potter was arrested Saturday May 16th after Tracy Police obtained an arrest warrant. Livermore Police made contact and arrested Potter.
Potter was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail and faces robbery charges.
Hoffman was already in custody at the Santa Rita Jail in Alameda County for an unrelated crime. He faces charges for possession of stolen property, being a felon in possession of a firearm and robbery.
Both men were charged in connection to the smash and grab at the Tracy Costco store where an estimated $150,000 in jewelry was taken. Police say the driver of the getaway vehicle brandished a handgun at an employee during the theft.
The vehicle involved in the smash and grab was also recovered at Hoffman’s residence by police.
