MODESTO – A fundraiser was established for the victims of a crash that claimed the life of a 12 year old girl Sunday evening.

The crash happened at about 7:00pm near the intersection of Sisk Road and Plaza Parkway. Police say a Jeep Laredo crashed into a Nissan Sedan after running a red light.

Police say the driver of the Laredo, 45 year old Kelley Ball, exited the Jeep and fled into a nearby WalMart where she attempted to take a face mask and pair of shoes. Officers located and detained her.

A 12 year old girl in the Nissan sedan died at the scene from her injuries. Her 15 year old brother was flown by air ambulance to a Bay Area hospital with major injuries. The father of the children suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. The mother sustained minor injuries.

Police arrested Ball on various charges including Murder, DUI and felony hit and run, among others. Officials say she had prior DUI convictions.

A GoFundMe fundraiser was set up to cover funeral costs for the 12 year old child and hospital expenses for her relatives.
